Chord & Go (“the app”) is developed by Nikitas Chatzis, Greece (“we”). This policy explains what information the app processes on Android and on iPhone and iPad, why, and what choices you have.
1. Your content stays on your device
Songs, chords, PDFs, images, scores, Korg SongBook files, setlists and settings are stored only on your device. Backups you create are saved where you choose (on the device or in your own cloud storage); we never receive them.
2. Optional cloud features
Text recognition (OCR), score recognition from a photo or PDF, and Word-to-PDF conversion send the page or file you choose to our server on Google Cloud / Firebase. The file itself is not stored. The result is kept for up to 24 hours, so that a dropped connection does not cost you a cloud page, and is then deleted automatically.
Crash reports: if the app closes unexpectedly, it sends a technical report through Google Firebase Crashlytics — the app version, device model, operating system and the point in the code where the problem happened. It never includes your songs, files or anything you typed, and it is not linked to your identity. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Send crash reports.
3. Account and plan information
The app does not ask for your name, email or phone number. It creates a random anonymous identifier (Firebase Authentication). Linked to it we keep only your plan (Free, Paid, Plus or Pro), the start of your free trial, your monthly cloud usage and your purchase status. We also keep a one-way hash of a device identifier, so that the free trial cannot be restarted by reinstalling. To protect the service from abuse, Google Play Integrity (Android) and Apple DeviceCheck (iPhone and iPad) confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app.
4. Advertising
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, on Android and on iPhone and iPad. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID on Android), your IP address, an approximate location derived from it, ad interactions and diagnostic data. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are asked for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy. On iPhone and iPad the app does not ask for tracking permission and does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA): it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Paid plans show no forced ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iPhone and iPad). We never see your card or payment details. Our server receives from Google or Apple only the confirmation that a purchase is valid and when it expires, so that your plan can be activated.
6. Features that work only on your device or local network
- Microphone: used only by the tuner. The sound is analysed on the device; it is never recorded or sent anywhere.
- Bluetooth and MIDI: used to connect your instruments, pedals and devices. Nothing is sent to us.
- Group session: devices of your band on the same Wi-Fi or Bluetooth exchange only which song is open — no files or song content.
- Stage screen: sends the lyrics or page on display to the screen or browser you connect on your own local network. It never passes through our servers.
7. What we do not do
We do not collect your contacts, calls, messages, precise location or photo library (the app sees only the files you choose to import). We do not sell your data and we do not share it for other companies’ marketing.
8. How long we keep information
Cloud results: up to 24 hours. Account and plan information: for as long as you use the app, or until you ask us to delete it. Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on your device. Crash reports: up to 90 days.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your information, and object to its processing. You can withdraw your advertising consent at any time in the app. To make a request, email us with your Account ID (Profile → Account ID, tap to copy). You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr). We process information to provide the app you asked for, on the basis of your consent for personalised ads, and in our legitimate interest in preventing fraud.
10. Services we use
Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Functions, Firestore, App Check, Crashlytics), Google Cloud Vision, Google AdMob with the Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Billing and the Apple App Store. Each is governed by its own privacy policy.
11. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
12. Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and its date, and announce important changes in the app.
